A second Judo player has withdrawn from the Olympics ahead of his scheduled match with an Israeli opponent, officials in Tokyo said on Monday.

Sudanese Mohamed Abdalrasool was eliminated in his second match of the -73-kg category against Israel Tohar Butbul.

The reason for this is not stated.

Abdalrasool was supposed to meet Algeria’s Fethi Nourine for the first round, but Nourine hit before the game to avoid a possible meeting with Butbul.

The International Judo Federation (IJF) suspended 30-year-old Nourine, who is said to have told Algerian television, “We worked hard to reach the Olympics.
